Description:
The presenter discusses being an African-American male (who is both a federal law enforcement officer and a counselor) counseling African-American males. He paints a picture of the history of Africans, and African-Americans in this country from slavery through the tragedies in Ferguson, Philadelphia, Florida, and Baltimore. Mr. Spann goes on to discuss various aspects of counseling the youth within this community. He expands on issues of micro-aggression, resiliency, and law enforcement.
