Honoring the Place of Spirituality and Religion in the Counseling Process

Mar 30, 2019 4:00pm ‐ Mar 30, 2019 5:00pm

Description

Spiritual/religious beliefs and practices may be related to clients’ presenting issues or hold keys to the resolution of those issues. Many counselors, however, do not feel competent to assess for and integrate information about client belief systems. In this interactive session, attendees will review concrete suggestions to ethically address the spiritual domain in the intake and assessment process as well as ways to integrate client belief systems and spiritual practices in counseling plans. Handouts will be provided.

Speaker(s):

  • Harriet L. Glosoff, PhD, Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator, Montclair State University
  • Robert Rogers, MA, Senior Pastor, The Church of God in Christ For All Saints
