Minority youth share the same mental health issues as the rest of their peers, with arguably even greater stressors due to racism and economic disparities. However, minority youth rarely receive assistance for mental health problems. Research has found that mental health app technology can be effective in combating stigmas and making therapy more accessible, efficient, and portable. The session will discuss the use of app development and its impact on mental awareness for minority youth.
