Integrating Expressive Arts in Multisystemic Therapy With At-Risk Adolescents

Mar 30, 2019 4:00pm ‐ Mar 30, 2019 4:30pm

Description

Multisystemic therapy (MST) is derived from the social–ecological theory (Henggeler et al., 1998), in which the risk and protective factors of the systems are identified by their contribution to at-risk behaviors (Schoenwald & Rowland, 2002). MST leaves a significant gap in the individual and family systems where an integration of MST and expressive arts can occur. This poster reviews the literature to provide justification of the integration, limitations, and practical examples of effective strategies.
