Mar 31, 2019 7:30am ‐ Mar 31, 2019 8:30am

Description

Distance counseling (DC) is gaining popularity. In 2018, the Higher Education Mental Health Alliance (HEMHA), an interdisciplinary partnership providing leadership to advance college students’ mental health, published a guide on DC in college settings. HEMHA representatives will review this free resource and share information about the forthcoming guide on emotional support animals (ESAs). This interactive session will frame the important questions and ethical dilemmas counselors may face with these topics.

Speaker(s):

  • Christopher Corbett, PsyD, Director of Counseling and Student Support Services/ADA/504 Compliance Officer, Savannah College of Art and Design
  • Kathryn P. Alessandria, PhD, Professor Higher Education Counseling/Student Affairs Program Coordinator, West Chester University
