Vicarious Posttraumatic Growth- Practitioner Growth Within the Work of Trauma Care

Mar 31, 2019 8:45am ‐ Mar 31, 2019 10:15am

Description

Vicarious exposure to trauma can be an opportunity for clinician growth in the same way that vicarious exposure can create negative reactions. As practitioners, we are often privileged to see clients survive, thrive, and grow as a result of trauma. In this session, we explore the ways in which exposure to client growth, positive approaches to the work of trauma, and targeted self-care strategies can be used to prevent the negative effects of vicarious traumatic exposure as well as promote vicarious posttraumatic growth.
