Client Suicide and the Clinician Survivor- After the Loss

Mar 31, 2019 12:15pm ‐ Mar 31, 2019 1:15pm

Description

Nearly one third of practicing counselors will experience the loss of a client to suicide at some point in their careers (Schwartz & Rogers, 2004), resulting in a variety of implications for the counselor—implications for which many counselors are ill prepared. The purpose of this session is to enhance awareness and understanding of the experiences of clinician survivors and provide information, strategies, and resources to help facilitate counselor healing and resilience following the loss of a client to suicide.
