Description

The application of neuroscience to the field of counseling has created opportunities for counselors to both optimize and energize their work. This session offers a research-based framework for ethically incorporating neuroscience into counseling practice to enhance clinical practice. Each of these approaches is grounded in professional counselor identity, including the value of the relationship, client autonomy, and professional ethics, and respective for diversity.

  • Participants will identify ethical challenges to integrating neuroscience into to counseling.
  • Participants will learn a framework for the ethical application of neuroscience to counseling.
  • Participants will explore ways to integrate neuroscience into their own practice in ethical ways.
