Description

The ACA Promoting Mental Health and Averting Addiction (ProMHAA) Task Force seeks to advocate for individual and systemic wellness and prevention of addiction through promotion of practices, data, and policies that elevate preventative practices across the life span. In this session, ProMHAA Task Force members will offer practical tips and resources on how counselors can engage in effective practices and advocacy efforts to identify and prevent substance abuse while promoting mental health.

  • Participants will learn how early experiences are correlated with mental health and addictions outcomes.
  • Participants will learn three activities that can be integrated into practice to help promote mental health.
  • Participants will learn three advocacy efforts that can be used to promote mental health and avert addiction.
