The body–mind connection is the basis for a transformational relational field. In a truly nonjudgmental atmosphere, we begin to transform the damaging effect on the nervous system, sense of self, and attachment orientation of negative imprints resulting from trauma. This fun, somatic practice workshop will introduce BREEMA: The Art of Being Present and offer clinicians and counselors experiential tools for nurturing client vitality, and movement toward wholeness, while simultaneously supporting clinician self-care.
Clients will learn 2 somatic exercises and a brief body centered meditation that they can practice in session with clients to increase attunement, client comfortability and agency while decreasing client disturbance.
Participants will identify 3/9 principles of harmony and how they can be directly applied in counseling practice.
Participants will practice 2 approaches for supporting body-mind connection that can be utilized while conducting an individual or group counseling session.
