This roundtable highlights the results from a qualitative study that examined the narratives of three African American female faculty members who received research mentorship while working toward tenure in counselor education programs.This roundtable will foster discussion among counselors on issues, strategies, and opportunities related to mentoring historically marginalized students and faculty. Attendees are invited to discuss best practices for facilitating successful research mentorship experiences.

  • Participants will identify issues related to mentoring historically marginalized students and faculty.
  • Participants will acquire knowledge about mentoring and research mentoring activities.
  • Participants will obtain information about best practices and strategies for engaging in successful research mentoring relationships.
