What does it mean to be Black? What does it mean to be Spiritual? What does it mean to explore and desire one’s sexuality? Best yet, what results from a client who experiences conflict between these identities? This session provides counselors with an opportunity to understand the unique confluence of sexuality and spirituality within the Black community. Dialogue about the development of sexual ethics and racial narratives will be explored, along with opportunities to develop strategies for clinical practice.
Participants will be able to articulate the complex issues present at the intersection of race, sexuality, and spirituality within the counseling setting.

Participants will be able to explore their own biases and assumptions surrounding sexual development, spirituality, and racial and ethnic identity.
