This session/s aim is to explore literature and characteristics of those who offend and provide a framework for an integrative treatment approach utilizing reality therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive–behavioral therapy to target criminogenic needs. Attendees will gain an understanding of characteristics, treatment needs, and strategies that promote re-entry. Attendees will be exposed to treatment planning and measure objectives that promote skill attainment and decrease the risk of offending behaviors.
Participants will be able to identify characteristics and treatment needs of the offender population to expand upon their case conceptualizations skills.
Participants will be able to understand and implement an integrative approach to the treatment of the offender population and those formerly incarcerated.
Participants will develop quantifiable treatment goals that are both collaborative and address the re-entry needs of clients.
