The focus of this study is the growing trend of doctoral students providing supervision to graduate-level students from discipline tracks that are different from the doctoral students’ counseling experience and/or background. This phenomenological look at the subjective nature of these doctoral students expands insight into how doctoral student supervisors navigate their experiences.
Obtain awareness of the lived experiences of student supervisors as they provide cross-track supervision to student counselors.
Highlight the drawbacks and benefits of the student supervisor’s experiences with their supervisor role as they provide supervision to student counselors.
Enhance insight into how student supervisors develop supervision skills within CACREP-accredited programs as they provide supervision across tracks.
