Mar 30, 2019 4:00pm ‐ Mar 30, 2019 4:30pm

Description

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2016), CSA has reached epidemic proportions, and prevention efforts are a primary concern. Through this poster, we will describe the components of the prevention program we have developed, implemented, and evaluated with a community sample of children and parents. The results of our study will be shared, including the clinical implications as well as recommendations for future research.

  • Participants will learn at least three CSA prevention interventions that can be implemented with children and their parents/caregivers to help prevent CSA before it occurs, or re-victimization if CSA has already occurred.
  • Participants will understand the results of our study, including at least three clinical implications to consider when implementing CSA prevention psychoeducation and skills training with children and families.
  • Participants will learn at least three recommendations for future research to enhance the development and implementation of CSA prevention programs.
