This poster will provide a summary of the theory, practice, and research on supervision across counselor education, site-based, and professional counseling contexts. The poster will assist counselor educators and supervisors, site-based supervisors, counselors-in-training, and professional counselors and supervisees in being able to identify similarities and differences in supervision across counselor education, site-based, and professional counseling contexts and to discuss the potential implications.

  • Attendees will be able to identify three similarities in supervision across counselor education, site-based, & professional counseling contexts.
  • Attendees will be able to describe one distinction of supervision in each of counselor education, site-based, & professional counseling contexts.
  • Attendees will be able to distinguish potential implications of the similarities and differences of supervision across counselor education, site-based, & professional counseling contexts.
