Experiences of social class impact multiple aspects of an individuals view of self and the world. As counselors and other helping practitioners, examining experiences of social class is a pathway to better understanding our clients lived experiences. The intent of this LI is to provide a meaningful and comprehensive look at the intersection of social class and the helping professions from not only a sociological perspective, but also from a practical clinical perspective. It is our intent that you walk away from this experience with a clearer understanding of social class as it relates to self as well as the tools and confidence to open a meaningful conversation with your clients.
