“Reflecting As If” (RAI) is an encouragement-focused, brief counseling process that integrates elements from Adlerian, solution-focused, narrative, and evidenced-based counseling perspectives. In this skill-focused session, attendees will learn the basic RAI counseling protocol and discuss how to apply it with diverse client populations and in various counseling practice settings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the theoretical framework and rationale for the encouragement-focused brief counseling process known as Reflecting As If (RAI).
  • Participants will understand and be able to implement the basic RAI protocol. Participants will understand how to implement the RAI process with diverse clients in various brief counseling settings.
  • Participants will understand how to implement the RAI process with diverse clients in various brief counseling settings.
