President Trump's proposed education budget would eliminate all funding for the Student Support and Academic Enrichments (SSAE) grant program (Title IV, Part A), a federal program that just received its first appropriation last year. The SSAE program is a block grant intended to help school districts provide a well-rounded education by funding school-based mental health programs, school counseling programs, and drug and violence prevention programs. The American Counseling Association is extremely concerned about the administration’s proposal, and we have urged Congress to reject the President’s budget and fund SSAE at its authorized level of $1.65 billon. Attend this free webinar to:

  • Gain a better understanding of the road ahead for funding of school counseling programs.
  • Hear expert analysis of the budget process and the need to invest in school counseling (and education in general).
  • Understand how the same budget process, timeline, and concerns apply to other federal programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
