The focus of this webinar is to provide clinicians in the field an overview of the military and its culture, which will create a better understanding of this population’s needs and how counselors can best serve them.

Objectives include:

  1. To identify and increase knowledge about veterans and military service members, both as a demographic and as a protected class.
  2. To broaden understanding about the military experience and culture and its lasting impact on veterans as they transition back to civilian.
  3. To identify opportunities and ways we, in the mental health community, can support our service members and their families.

This was a really great webinar. I am a graduate student about to start my practicum on a military installment overseas and I am a civilian. I truly have become more educated in the military culture and what to be aware of while serving this population in the field of mental health. Thank you!
