Led by the ACA Council of Editors, this session is designed to promote research, demystify the publication process, and provide the skills needed for successful publishing in journals and Counseling Today. ACA field editors will offer manuscript preparation guidelines, tips for targeting the appropriate publication for your topic, insight on reviewer feedback, advice on turning a dissertation into a publishable manuscript, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss article topic possibilities and how-tos in a roundtable format.
In this session, the ACA Council of Editors will explain why conducting research and use evidence-based practices is important to inform effective, ethical practice; present basic strategies for designing research; discuss and offer suggestions for article topics; give tips on targeting appropriate journals, and provide general writing guidelines for publishing in scholarly journals. Appropriate for counselors-in-training and emerging researchers.
This session will examine how scholarly research helps to advance the counseling profession by informing clinical practice.
