Exploring Relational Aggression: Counseling Girls to Manage Conflict and Anger

Credits: None available.

Description

Description:
Critical developmental issues surface for girls in early adolescence, including their rapidly changing bodies, emerging sexuality and relationships with/attention from potential romantic partners, and academic pressures. This chapter explores the nature of relational aggression (RA), first describing the socialization processes that drive it. I then turn to the dynamics of RA and how it is related to girls' pursuit of popularity.
