Melanie Walsh, LPC, NCC is a Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision at Mississippi State University; she is focusing on the areas of gender, sexuality, and social factors related to mental health. She is a lecturer for the gender studies program at MSU, and she regularly provides additional guest lectures and trainings related to gender issues on campus. She is currently engaged in public health research and program evaluation at the Social Science Research Center at MSU. Melanie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor and has practiced as a school-based mental health therapist in a rural-conservative area.
