I attended Texas Tech University where I achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and another Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After graduating from Texas Tech, I decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance at New Mexico State University. The program emphasized the importance of multicultural counseling and focused on the cultural issues that our clients would be facing. This motivated me to pursue a minor in Spanish Counseling which allowed me to specialize my studies in the problems that directly affect my community in El Paso, TX. During the last year of my graduate program, I was a therapy intern at the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence (CASFV) in El Paso, TX where I worked with survivors of domestic violence. Now as the Child Therapist at CASFV, I strive to deliver a safe and warm place for our child survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and to empower them to live rich and full lives.
