Taylor Carson will be a recent graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Southern Connecticut State University, an National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a new professional in the field of counseling (December 2018). Throughout her graduate career, she completed research alongside Dr. Misty Ginicola on the topics of high sensitivity, yoga and mental health, and intersectionality of affectional and gender orientation and religion. These studies have fueled her interest in unique approaches to counseling such as mindfulness, and she also identifies as a highly sensitive person. She and Dr. Ginicola have written manuscripts together for Counseling Today and ACA Practice Briefs concerning highly sensitive children and adults. Her passions surrounding mental health include fighting the stigma, holistic approaches, and wellness of LGBTQIA+ people. She hopes to one day run her own private practice and provide informed care to other highly sensitive people.
