Richelle Joe PhD

Assistant Professor, University of Central Florida

Dr. J. Richelle Joe is an assistant professor in Counselor Education at the University of Central Florida. She completed her doctoral studies at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology, teaching, and counseling from the University of Virginia and Old Dominion University. Dr. Joe has extensive professional experience, including service as a middle school counselor and family counselor in community and clinical settings. She holds Virginia licensure for history, psychology, and school counseling, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. For over 20 years, Dr. Joe has served in rural, urban, and suburban communities, working collaboratively with parents, families, and community members to support the academic, career, and psycho-social needs of children and adolescents. Additionally, her academic and research interests include culturally responsive services for underserved and marginalized populations, including individuals of color and  individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.
