Dr. Elizabeth H. Shilling is an Assistant Professor at Wake Forest School of Medicine and is licensed in the state of NC as a professional counselor (LPC). Previously she served as an adjunct Assistant Professor at Wake Forest University in the Department of Counseling and as an Instructor in the Family & Community Medicine Department at Baylor College of Medicine. While at Baylor, Dr. Shilling brought knowledge in motivational interviewing and substance use disorders treatment to a SAMHSA-funded grant which trained more than 400 medical residents on Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) over 4 years. Dr. Shilling has over eight years of experience in substance use disorders treatment and research and more than ten years of experience in clinical research and graduate level education.
