Jonathan "Jon" Wiley is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Counselor Education at Virginia Tech. He is interested in contemplation, mindfulness, and pedagogy in counselor education. More specifically, his work examines the metacognitive development of counselors and counselors in training. Jon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. He holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Development, with specializations in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling, from Radford University. Jon has experience in a variety of counseling practice areas that include outpatient individual and family counseling, crisis counseling, ecotherapy, intensive wraparound services, school-based mental health counseling, residential treatment, and juvenile detention.
