Pamela S. Lassiter PhD

Dr. Pamela S. Lassiter is an Associate Professor of Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She has over 30 years of work experience as a counselor, clinical supervisor, and administrator in community mental health. Her areas of research and publication include multicultural counseling, women’s issues in counseling, gay and lesbian issues in counseling, and addiction counseling. She has published two books in the area of addiction counseling Theory and Practice of Addiction Counseling and the Annual Review of Addiction and Offender Counseling, Volume III: Best Practices.  She is an active presenter on multicultural issues in counseling at the national, regional, and state levels. She teaches courses in counseling sexual minority clients, women’s issues, group counseling, clinical supervision, and substance abuse counseling. Dr. Lassiter is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Addiction and Offender Counseling and Past-President of the International Association of Addiction and Offender Counseling.
