Cirecie A. West-Olatunji PhD

Associate Professor/Director, Xavier University of Louisiana

Cirecie A. West-Olatunji serves as Associate Professor, Director of the XULA Center for Traumatic Stress Research CTSR at Xavier University of Louisiana and is a past president of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Dr. West-Olatunji is also a past president of the Association for Multicultural Counseling & Development, a division of ACA. Cirecie specializes in traumatic stress and multicultural counseling with a focus on marginalized communities. Cirecie West-Olatunji has provided over 100 presentations and is the author of 50+ peer-reviewed journal articles, numerous book chapters, and co-author of three books. She is an ACA Fellow and has received awards from the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ), and several other organizations. Dr. West-Olatunji received her master’s and doctoral degrees in counselor education from the University of New Orleans.
