Dr. Dalena Dillman Taylor is an assistant professor at UCF, the Senior Director of Implementation at the Marriage and Family Research Institute, Coordinator of the Mental Health Master’s program, and the Play Therapy Certificate Coordinator. Dr. Dillman Taylor’s broad background is in Counseling with specific training in play therapy and research methodology. She is active in the training and certification of graduate level mental health clinicians focused on positive outcomes for children and families. She has received over $9.6 million in funding to support relationship education initiative for low-income individuals and couples from the Administration for Children and Families. Dr. Dillman Taylor’s contributions to science include (a) implementation of quality research design methodology, (b) knowledge and experience of actively engaging parents to support the healthy development of their children, and (c) knowledge of child related mental health needs to inform healthy family systems and work with caregivers.
