Dana Heller Levitt PhD

Associate Professor, Montclair State University

Dr. Levitt is Associate Professor of Counseling at Montclair State University. She has been a counselor educator for over 14 years at two institutions, where she works with master's and doctoral students in teaching and advising. Dr. Levitt is a current member of the CACREP Board of Directors and past co-chair of the ACA Ethics Committee. She has held numerous leadership positions in ACA divisions and branches and Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society throughout her career. Dr. Levitt has written and presented extensively on the topic of ethics in counseling. She is co-author of Values and Ethics in Counseling (2012, Routledge) in addition to other publications on the topic. She serves as an editorial board member for Counseling and Values and has served on other editorial boards for counseling publications. In addition to ethics, Dr. Levitt has expertise in scholarship and teaching in counselor development, religious issues in counseling, gender issues, and body image/eating disorders.
