Olivia Currin is the Coordinator/Counselor for the Adult Trauma service and the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as part of the Acute Care Surgery team: Trauma and Burn services. She is a NC licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) and NC licensed clinical addiction specialist associate (LCASA). She has been providing Specialized Screening and Brief Counseling Intervention services for over three years, specifically counseling individuals impacted by substance use disorders and complications from psychological trauma. She specializes in counseling individuals with substance use disorders and acute stress using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach in an integrated care setting. In addition to clinical work, she has been a key care manager for an NIH-funded multicenter pragmatic trial examining intensive interventions for acute stress/ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in hospital trauma patients.
